AI regulation is a more imminent danger than AI itself

The real danger is who gets to control this industry. We’re probably witnessing the formation of the AI Cartel.

The current level of media mis-information regarding AI is staggering. I wanted to cover this topic because I believe that we’re on the verge of losing one of our freedoms and we’re not even realizing it.

Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI; Demis Hassabis, chief executive of Google DeepMind; Dario Amodei, chief executive of Anthropic among other AI Leaders have recently signed the following statement on AI risk:

Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war.

Well if it poses such a risk, we need to regulate it right? That’s exactly what some of the current AI leaders want regulators to think, because it’s in their best interest that we fear AI. Allow me to introduce a conspiracy as old as time, which eventually just boils down to human greed.

You see, right now people out there are doing some incredible things with AI in the Open Source space. StableDiffusion and StabilityAI are just a couple of examples, but the list of amazing Open Source AI projects that I’m seeing…
