Solana Just Announced A Web3 Smartphone

Solana has just announced that they will be working on creating a flagship Android device named Saga. The device being developed by Solana Labs’ subsidiary — Solana Mobile, and working in close relationship with Solana Labs in order to offer a native Web3 experience on mobile with the help of Solana Mobile Stack.

The Solana Mobile Stack(SMS) is designed to make crypto mobile and accessible anywhere. This SDK that comes with many developer tools including a hardware-encoded Seed Vault that will be used to publish mobile dApps that will be distributed on a specialized store. The SMS SDK is up on GitHub with its first commit 2 days ago and it’s available for developers to start building here.

Solana Mobile have teamed up with OSOM, a cryptocurrency asset management firm in order to bring SMS to a flagship Android device built natively for crypto.

Pre-orders are available now and the device is due to ship early 2023. Early adopters of the Saga will also be gifted an exlcusive Saga Pass NFT that is supposed so play a role in the governance of Solana Mobile. According…
