What This Bear Market is Trying to Teach You

Not everyone loves a bear market, but they are a real necessity in any evolving market. They don’t provide much hype or euphoria so it’s easy to understand why many people have a reptile-brain reaction to a bear market. But for what bear markets lack in hype and euphoria, they make up for with sobriety, rationality and a return to fundamentals.

Bear Markets are needed because they test the “foundation” of the market as a whole. They also emphasize which projects and products are sustainable financially and have a good value offering. Bear Markets highlight shortcuts that were taken during bull runs, and cleanse the market from products and services that do not have a solid foundation, allowing other, better alternatives to exist. In many ways, Bear markets are like necessary forest fires, that cull the forest and re-balance the ecosystem, allowing the sun to shine through the dense canopy and on the ground.
