World Wide (Worthless) Web: The Problem With AI And Content Generation

The Internet is becoming a high-tech dumping ground for petabytes of worthless, soulless content.

Medium recently announced that they will not be supporting AI training on writers’ articles, a good start towards a much larger problem that the Internet is currently facing.

Hundreds of publications have already adopted AI into their workflow, meaning that independent journalists, writers and bloggers are going to be seen as the main source of quality content, as everything else is being automated for speed.

Many publications are currently experimenting with integrating AI into their workflow so that they can cover more content with less manpower. In fact, NewsGuard — a data-driven organisation that works to combat misinformation has carried out a research into this issue and found over 487 news and media websites to be either nearly entirely AI generated or heavily using AI generated content.

Getintoknowledge.com is one such website, where the founder, Adesh Ingale, admitted to NewsGuard that they are indeed using AI automation but only when “100% necesarry” and that everything is fact checked (it’s not — they lied).
